PCB profiling involves either milling or v-scoring or the combination of both mechanical techniques. Milling, also referred to Routing, which is performed on a CNC mechanical machine with a routing tool.Routing is used to form the contours and breakouts of the PCB at the end of PCB manufacturing process when separate the individual PCBs from the production panel.
Re: PCB Milling - looking for a quicker way of removing copper between tracks. So are you saying that setting the 'Cut Width' to a number greater than 1 did not solve the problem ? "Cut Width: The total width of the cut. If this width is greater than the tool diameter, multiple parallel cuts are used."
PCB Milling Tutorial by Ayesha Ebrahim Sienci Labs. Aug 23, 2018· The reason we are milling out a slot is to be able to accurately realign the PCB with the mill when flipping the PCB to mill the copper traces on the other side of the board. Step 4.3: Engrave Top Copper Traces. After that, use double-sided tape to secure the PCB in the slot.
Milling a Copper PCB. How to mill a circuit board: UPDATE: Check out my page on etching PCB's instead, it's much better! From schematic to copper board, getting it done. Note: This page is now *really* old, dating from about 2005. In the interim, I may have lost the images. I'll try to post them again, but it will probably take a while.

Bare Copper Clad Through Milling Machine to PCB images from left to right: (1) Veys Homemade PCBs (2) Accurate CNC (3) Pyroelectro 2.4. Artwork/Gerber Files The milling machine uses artwork/Gerber files to know how to cut out a printed circuit board.
Sacial waste board and facing end mill: When milling a PCB even the slightest variation in height across your copper clad board can ruin your isolation milling traces. To help reduce this from happening you need to mill a pocket the size of your copper clad board into a sacial waste board of 1×4, 1×6 or 1×8 plain pine board or ...
The milling of a blank PCB includes removing a thin coating of copper (0.05mm or less). It is vitally crucial to keep the panel as base as possible throughout the operation – cut too low, and the self-sealing tool will take away quite enough copper leaving you with extremely high tracks; cutting too high as well as the tracks will never be ...
Milling a Copper PCB Esmonde-White. This is the web site of Francis and Karen Esmonde-White, where we post a variety of our personal interests. Inquire Now; PCB Router Jonathan Westhues. PCB Router: Printed circuit boards are usually manufactured by chemical etching (with iron (III) chloride or ammonium persulfate, for example).
The new noncopper_paint -object will contain the paths for copper removal. Do note that the polygon is continuous throughout the trace edges, so there's also removal marked for the top-right corner (even though the 0.55mm widht is too large to run between the trace edges, the polygon is continuous and any space large enough for the bit is marked for removal).
